Turning Challenges into Opportunities - Ep. 31
In this episode, we are grateful to have Emily Ward and Jess Hunichen, the Co-Founders of Shine Talent Group, a leading North American and Canadian influencer talent management agency.

Their partnership started when Jess moved to Toronto. Emily was doing contract and consulting work while raising a family and when she needed help, she reached out to Jess. As their workload and relationship morphed over a short period of time, ShinePR was born in 2015. They quickly saw an opportunity in the influencer landscape and jumped on it, expanding beyond PR. Now they have multiple offices and almost 50 team members. They are working with thousands of clients and talent. Shine Talent Group represents notable influencers & social talent between its LA and Toronto offices and has worked with brands such as Amazon, REVOLVE, Unilever, and L'Oréal on influencer campaigns, leveraging their company's robust talent roster. Ward and Hunichen have also created The BodCon, the first & only virtual conference focused on body confidence and radical self-acceptance. BodCon event speakers have included Jameela Jamil, the actress & creator of inclusivity platform I Weigh; Sarah Nicole Landry, the body confidence activist and creator behind @thebirdspapaya; and Hunter McGrady, the legendary plus-size model. The BodCon has since expanded into a robust virtual body confidence community, podcast, and event series. Can’t wait to see what they launch next!
Emily and Jess build brand alliances with social media talent to drive sales through affiliation and awareness. Shine specializes in the online and social space working with brands and agencies.
